12/1/09 – CARY COOPER

Cary Cooper has one of those voices—the kind you long for at the end of a hard day. She starts singing and you just sit back, close your eyes, and breathe a little deeper."

— Performing Songwriter

True to its title, Cary Cooper’s Dirty Little Secret plays like a night of bedside confessions..."

Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!

Dirty Little Secret is Cary Cooper’s brand new album and I love it. The songs are hauntingly beautiful and the production (by husband, Tom Prasada-Rao) is glorious and absolutely perfect for the songs. Cary says in the liner notes that she has always been afraid of the truth and that this collection of songs is her coming out party. I say we are the lucky ones – for Cary’s coming out party means that she is sharing her wonderful and sometimes difficult journey with us through her songs. This woman’s journey includes reflections on her youth, finding her truth, what it means to be a mother to her two girls, and circling back around to her youth through them. She honors her journey by sharing it with us. This is a powerful album.

Recently, Cary posted what appeared to be a late night, I’ve-just-finished-a-brand-new-song video of All I Ever Wanted. I love this song and the little video of it that she did with husband Tom on guitar and sweet harmonies.

7th Grade is another song from Dirty Little Secret. In this video, Cary is accompanied by Tom and by Kenny Edwards! Yellow is from an earlier album of Cary’s by the same name.

By the way, I LOVE the photo I have used of Cary. It is just fun and fabulous. It is my favorite of the publicity shots for the new album. The photographer’s name is Jennifer Zindler. You can read more about her at http://www.hauteshotphoto.com/.

All songs featured are by Cary Cooper except Consider Me which was written with Tom Prasada-Rao and Everything Is Coming True which was written by Tom Prasada-Rao and Dave Crossland. As always, you can click on the iTunes button to purchase this great music or click on Cary’s photo to go to her website and read more about her.
