Eilidh has a voice as clear as the frosty night air and her self-penned songs suggest a maturity beyond her years. Brilliant.”

It’s really exciting for me to write about someone who is so talented. I started to say someone who is so young, but the truth is I am not writing about Eilidh because she is young. I am writing about her because she is so very talented. And yes, it will be fun to look forward to new albums from her and to see where her beautiful voice and smart and loving lyrics take her.
Eilidh (pronounced I-Lee) is a Scots-Gaelic name meaning ‘ray of sunshine.’ She grew up in Derry in Northern Ireland and sang in her family’s gospel music group. When the group disbanded, she began writing original material and wowing audiences while she worked on her first solo CD.
I was introduced to Eilidh’s music by Roy McCurry from Belfast. Like me, he loves to spread the word about music and artists that he loves. I am so grateful that he sent me some of her tunes.
Still Learning is Eilidh’s response to reading a quote by Michaelangelo, “I am still learning.” It is the first song of hers that I heard, and I was blown away. Yes, her voice will amaze you, but listen to how wonderfully this song is crafted.
Do I Ever Cross Your Mind was inspired by seeing Willie Nelson in concert, and she uses some of his song titles in the lyrics very cleverly.
I like Precious Cargo for the longing in the words, voice, and melody and for the surprise and secret that the song reveals.
In the first video, Eilidh sings That Leaves Me. One of life’s hardest lessons is that you can’t change anyone else – only yourself.
The second video, Falling Hard and Fast, is one of the sweetest giving-in-to-love songs I have ever heard.
